MOTHERS DAY SPECIAL: FAQ RELATED TO BOX BRAIDS BY INDIQUE HAIR
This is my first time dressing box braids, What opinion do you have? Pros & Cons? It's all regarding how you make them done and how you take care of them. It’s best to make them done by a hairstylist so that they look gorgeous and are done fairly. Also, the hairstylist should assist you in getting your arrangement(not just get your money). You have to select the style that works for you(for example I don’t support very high, waist-length, or longer if you own short/thin hair or if you’re transitioning.)
Pros are of major preserving your natural hair and letting it grow(it depends on your hair, the most abundant new extension I’ve had was 2inches). Box braids(and other African hair braiding styles) are different fields of creativity for natural hair.
Cons are damage. Repeatedly this depends on your hair. Don’t hold your braids in for too long. They last approximately 4 months on me externally any harms but I’ve overheard of someone encountering difficulties after only 2 months. I don’t suggest you keep them in for longer than 3 months(just to be protected).
Talk to your hairstylist, friends who know regarding braids, and beauty/hair stores in your area & take care of your hair on this Mother's Day 2021. Good Luck :)
What hair to handle?
100 % human hair braid is what I always suggest. It comes in a variation of textures. If you are allergic to hair practiced for braiding, it could be the drugs in the hair. The most useful idea to do is to soak the hair in vinegar and water for 15-30 minutes to free of the salty base. It supports a lot.
I will suggest to you the Indique Hair is the best brand for hair extensions and wigs.
How long should I hold my braids in?
Not extended than 3 months
What changes if you keep the braid in too long?
Your original hair(new growth) gets knotted and begins to lock on its own. Also, it induces a lot of breakages and you finish up losing your hair.

What to do to the edges of my braids?
There are many choices.
You can braid the hair to the edge and burn the edges.
You can fix or attach a knot wherever you end braiding and part the ends out
Or what appears to be the most familiar (&what I do) is to serve the ends in boiling water. You could set them in curlers or blow them straight.
Which style is more suitable/serves longer?
In my opinion twists braids last longer, because if you start to have new growth, they quite look decent and start to seem natural if the hair you used is related to your texture. But still, there are a lot of forms to pick from.
How do I take care of my natural hair?
I always suggest Oil your scalp every day and cover your hair every night. When your tips/new growth begin to grow in, brush them up each day. Also, apply hairspray. I suggest olive oil, castor oil, or even soyabean oil. Plus, use a silk scarf/headwrap if you cover your hair. Cotton bandannas grasp the moisture and dry out your hair. Moreover, use a shower cap in the shower.
